The Check Coverage app is used by a mobile operator's field service engineers to check the signal strength, cell tower information, and bandwidth available for a location and upload that to their servers along with geolocation information. This is used to identify problem areas, congestion and black spots where additional network towers may be required.
This assists them in diagnosing problems with their network and in planning the location for new cell towers.
